The Need for Chromatiqx Online gas chromatographs (GCs) are very commonly used in many chemical plants. These online GCs have a sampling system that samples the process gas and then transfers it to the GC equipment for online analysis. The GC normally takes about 3 minutes to 20 minutes to analyze the gas composition and then the value is made available for display. Functions of Chromatiqx Chromatiqx is a software product that performs advanced signal validation and using OPC real-time communication protocol and transfers the data from the GC down to the DCS/PLC from where it is used for both process monitoring and closed-loop process control. Advanced Signal Validation Chromatiqx provides very powerful and sophisticated algorithms for the GC signal validation in order to make sure that the signal is meaningful, correct, and usable for display and control. The signal values are used by both operators and closed-loop controller to adjust control valves or to change the setpoints of slave controllers. Its is important to make sure the signal is properly validated and thereby any automatic control action or manual operator based changes are appropriate and conducive to the process needs. If the Chromatiqx signal validation set of advanced mathematical algorithms detect uncertainty or error, appropriate corrective action is immediately enforced. This may include alarms, messages, alerts, setting the ultimate downloaded values to bad status or freezing of the downstream slave controllers. The analyzer technicians in the meantime can attend to the GC problem or failure and correct the situation. Chromatiqx Platform Chromatiqx can be run on a standalone server based computer loaded with OPC software. Typically Chromatiqx is run conveniently along with PiBridge, but it can be also run standalone by itself. Chromatiqx comes with various different installation configurations depending on the needs and the end objectives of the process.
